Fuel & exHaust system
One of the most common causes of poor engine performance is the
carburetor. This is especially true of older collector vehicles, which
spend much of their lives sitting silently in a garage. After several
weeks, old gasoline begins to break down and turn to “varnish”
in your fuel system, which will clog up the tiny jets and orifices in
the carburetor. Rust, moisture, and debris gather in the tank, and
then get pumped into the poor carburetor every time you start the
engine. Years of alternating between soaking in gas and then
drying out, and then soaking yet again will ruin the gaskets in any
carburetor too. Rebuild the carburetor in your favorite Chevy with
one of our complete Carburetor Gasket Sets, for smooth reliable
performance on the road. Or, better yet, order a newly Rebuilt
Carburetor for convenient bolt-on installation.
